When is Mercer Island Art Uncorked?

The Mercer Island Art Uncorked event is on Friday, September 9, 2022 from 5-8 p.m. This is a rain or shine event.  Vendors are under tents but if precipitation is forecasted, bring your raincoat or umbrella.

There are 2 types of tickets to purchase for entrance: General Admission - Advanced (includes 10 wine tasting tickets, a complimentary wine glass, and wine bag) and Art Patron - Advanced (without wine tasting tickets and without a complimentary wine glass or bag). 

This event is projected to sell out. A very limited number of tickets may be available to purchase on site day of the event. There is no guarantee of availability, so buy your tickets early to avoid disappointment.

Attendees must be 21 or older.  IDs will be checked upon entry. No exceptions per the Washington State Liquor & Cannabis Board.

All areas are closed to public from 12pm to 5pm to allow the vendors to set up during this time.

Is there an age requirement?

Where is it held?

Mercer Island Art Uncorked is held in Town Center of Mercer Island, 78th Avenue and Sunset Blvd. at the Greta Hackett Outdoor Sculpture Gallery.  The event is nearby many shops and restaurants.  Click for map location

 

Where can I find parking?

Several garages in the town center area offer parking. Watch for signs with parking symbols.

 

Can I ride my bike?

Yes! Pedal your bicycle down to the event and lock it up at one of the nearby bike racks.

 

What public transportation is available?

The event is being held just across I-90 from the Park and Ride lot, which is served by frequent bus service from Seattle and Bellevue.  Below are a few suggestions to plan your trip:

 

How much does it cost?

There are 2 types of Advance tickets to purchase for entrance: $35 General Admission - Advanced (includes 10 wine tasting tickets and a complimentary wine glass) and $10 Art Patron - Advanced (without wine tasting tickets and without a complimentary wine glass). Starting 12am the day of the event, a limited number of General Admission tickets may be available on site day of the event for $45. There is no guarantee of availability, so buy your advance tickets before midnight on Sept. 8.

Per WA State Liquor and Cannabis Board:  Tasting size is 2 oz. You must be 21 or older and have a valid ID to enter the event. No exceptions per the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. 

Advance tickets are non-refundable; the event will be held rain or shine. *If state or local COVID-19 guidelines require cancellation of this event, tickets may be refundable.

 

Can I buy advanced tickets?

Advance tickets can be bought online (credit card only) starting August 6 through Eventbrite. Advance ticket sales end at midnight Sept. 8. A limited quantity of tickets may be available on the day of event, but can only be purchased through Eventbrite.

 

What is the appropriate ID to get in?

The Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board requires everyone entering the event to present valid ID. According to the WSLCB, any of the following is acceptable:

  • a driver's license with a photo from any state

  • a current passport

  • a DMV identification card*

  • a military card*

 

What is Mercer Island Art Uncorked's Guest Conduct Policy?

The event has a strict alcohol policy that is designed to protect the guests and the public from alcohol-related incidents. All event guests are expected to maintain responsible and appropriate behavior at all times. Any behavior defying this policy as determined by event management can result in ejection and possible arrest.  Event management has the right to refuse entry to any guest deemed intoxicated upon arrival to the event.  Additionally, the event management has the right to remove any guest from the premises who is intoxicated, causes a disturbance or displays inappropriate behavior. Ejected guests will not receive a refund for their tickets or be compensated in any way.

 

Is there re-entry at Mercer Island Art Uncorked?

Yes. You must show your bracelet for re-entry into the event.

 

Does Mercer Island Art Uncorked accept credit cards or checks?

Eventbrite accepts most major credit cards for advanced ticket purchase. We will not be selling tickets at the event entrance this year. A limited quantity of tickets may be available on the day of event, but can only be purchased through Eventbrite.

 

Can I bring my child?

All Art Uncorked ticket holders must be at least 21 years of age with valid ID.

No exceptions per the Washington State Liquor and Cannabis Board. 

Can I bring my pet?

Only service animals on leash are allowed. No pets in strollers or carried pets are allowed.

How do the tickets work?

At the check-in table, you are issued a bracelet and will receive ten (10) tickets for the tastings and a complimentary stemless wine glass from our sponsor Wells Fargo.  To taste a wine, present a ticket to the winery rep. Per WA State Liquor and Cannabis Board: Tasting size is 2 oz.  Wine servers do not accept cash.

 

When does event admission end?

Admission stops at 7:30 p.m., one-half hour before bottles are corked at 8 p.m. Be aware of this and plan to arrive early enough to allow yourself plenty of time to enjoy the event.

 

When does wine tasting end?

The last call will be announced at 7:45 p.m. No wine will be served after 7:50 p.m. The event closes promptly at 8 p.m.

 

Can I buy the wines I’ve tasted?

Yes, the wineries are making bottles of the sampled wines available for purchase. See the price list in the event program. Purchased wines can be stored at the "Wine Valet" while you enjoy the evening.

Is there food on site?

Yes! Local food vendors will be inside the fenced event area. Downtown Mercer Island also has a number of wonderful restaurants, so you can sit down and enjoy a meal after this event.

 

Is smoking allowed?

Mercer Island Art Uncorked is an outdoor event but smoking is not allowed in the Outdoor Sculpture Park. As per Washington State Law, smoking is allowed 20-feet from doorways of buildings. We ask that you do not litter, use the trash receptacles and be respectful of other guests.

 

What about designated drivers? 

If you are part of a group and plan to drink, assign a designated driver. Designated drivers may enter the event with a $10.00 Art Patron ticket. No tasting tickets will be given but ID will be checked (21 years and older only) and a wrist band will be issued.

 

If the person I'm with doesn't drink, do they have to pay to enter?

You may purchase a $10.00 Art Patron ticket to have access into the fenced event area and enjoy all the artists' booths, sponsor booths, live music and food trucks.

 

Will non-alcoholic beverages be available?

Yes, non-alcoholic beverages will be available for purchase in the food truck area.

Do the neighbors in the apartment buildings get into the event for free?

Neighbors in the apartment buildings nearby do not get into the event free.
